Introduction

The 2010 SuperDARN Workshop will be held in Hermanus in South Africa from 30 May till 4 June 2010.

Transport

The closest airport to Hermanus is the Cape Town International Airport. Hermanus is approximately an hour and a half driving time from the airport. There is no regular public transport to Hermanus and so we will be providing a coordinated bus service from the airport to Hermanus.

On Sunday 30 May there will be one 40 seater bus in the morning and one in the afternoon from CT International airport to Hermanus. There will be return trips on Friday 4 June in the afternoon and Saturday 5 June in the morning. If you are planning to arrive earlier or stay on later we suggest you plan your transfers with TIKARI.

Hire cars are also available at the airport.

Accommodation

There are a number of Bed and Breakfasts near to the workshop venue. The official conference accommodation agency is TIKARI Lifestyle Travel. Glynis and Kari are happy to assist you with all your accommodation needs and to ensure that your stay is a comfortable and happy one.

  • Sunday 30 May - Icebreaker 5pm at HMO
  • Monday 31 May - Workshop start 9am, Working groups and PI meetings in the evening
  • Tuesday 1 June - Workshop start 9am, Poster session in the evening
  • Wednesday 2 June - Workshop start 9am, Excursion in the afternoon, braai at yacht club in the evening
  • Thursday 3 June - Workshop start 9am, Conference dinner in the evening
  • Friday 4 June - Workshop start 9am, Workshop finish lunch time
